Social Media Influencer Tigrinho Muse Arrested as Part of Gambling Probe
A Brazilian social media influencer has been arrested by Brazilian authorities for allegedly using social media to promote and encourage gambling.
Emilly Kamilly Souza da Silva, better known online as the “Musa do Tigrinho” or “Tigrinho Muse,” was arrested by authorities on June 3 in Cuiabá after hiding out for a number of weeks.
The 21-year-old influencer became a target of Operation Quéfren, an effort launched by the Civil Police of Ceará on April 2, with help from police in other states.
More specifically, she's been accused of promoting what is deemed to be an "illegal" game called “Jogo do Tigrinho" (Fortune Tiger) via her social media platforms.
The game, which has gained massive popularity in Brazil, involves players spinning a slot machine interface featuring a cartoon tiger and attempting to match symbols and win virtual coins or real money.
"Jogo do Tigrinho" is considered to be a game of chance and prohibited in the country.
da Silva has amassed 90,000–95,000 Instagram followers through the promotion of her glamorous jet setting lifestyle.
But this case appears to be more about just the promotion of an online casino game that falls under a legally "grey" area.
Investigators allege she used staged “demo” casino winnings posted online to lure followers into bogus betting schemes, allowing her to earn commissions or flat fees based on user sign‑ups and total bets.
Several other influencers, including Mariany Dias, have also been arrested or are under investigation for promoting "Jogo do Tigrinho".
